Property owners in Bernalillo County now have the chance to visit satellite offices to file a protest if they disagree with their Notice of Value. These special offices will be open from Thursday until June 2, giving people plenty of time to take action.
Where Are the Satellite Offices Located?
There are two locations where you can go to file your protest:
1. Andalucia Shopping Center
Near Coors Blvd. and Montaño Blvd.
2. The Shoppes
Near San Mateo Blvd. and Osuna Rd.
Both of these offices are located at county My Vote Centers, making them easy to access for most residents.
When Can You Visit the Offices?
The satellite offices will be open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the appeal period.
Why Is This Important?
Each year, property owners receive a Notice of Value from the county that shows how much their property is worth. This value affects how much they will pay in property taxes. If someone believes their property’s value is listed too high, they have the right to file an appeal.
These satellite offices are set up to help make the protest process easier, especially for those who prefer speaking to someone in person or need help with paperwork.
How to Prepare for Your Visit
Before going to one of the offices, it’s a good idea to bring your Notice of Value, any documents or photos that support your protest, and your photo ID. Staff will be available to help guide you through the process and answer questions.
Bernalillo County is making it more convenient for homeowners to appeal their property values by opening these two satellite protest offices. If you think your property has been overvalued, make sure to visit one of the locations between Thursday and June 2, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is your chance to make sure your property taxes are fair and accurate.
