This afternoon a jury found Keyvin Silva Munoz guilty of aggravated burglary with a deadly weapon and bribery of a witness. Munoz could face up to 12 years in prison; his sentencing will take place within 60 days.
Silva Munoz attended a party on March 7, 2020 and was involved in a fight inside, immediately after Silva-Munoz and his group were made to leave multiple shots were fired at the residence. After a barrage of bullets Silva Munoz kicked open the door with a gun in his hand, and he was shot by the homeowner. Immediately after the incident Munoz posted on Facebook for his followers to help him find the person that shot him in efforts to retaliate against that person.
After a five day trial the jury came to their verdict within hours after closing statements. Witness cell phone images, Facebook posts and essential eye witness testimonies proved that Silva Munoz’ was responsible for this violent incident.
“This is the second trial we have successfully convicted in the last three months that involves a house party turned violent,” Bernalillo County District Attorney Raúl Torrez said. “My team provided reliable witnesses, social media evidence, and a clear timeline of what happened that night to prove to the jury that Mr. Silva Munoz caused harm and trauma to several victims that night.”
