This morning a jury found Vincente Garcia guilty on all 12 counts from the indictment; five counts of criminal sexual penetration in the second degree (child 13-18), three counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor, one count of child exploitation (manufacturing), one count of child exploitation (distribution), one count of child exploitation (possession), and one count of aggravated battery (great bodily harm).
After a four day-long trial with seven witnesses called by the state, the jury took only thirty minutes of deliberating before finding Garcia guilty on all counts. In 2019 a criminal complaint was filed against Garcia for the sexual abuse of a minor which he committed in 2018. Garcia is facing up to 115.5 years in prison, his sentencing will be about six weeks out from today.
“Today Mr. Garcia was found guilty on all counts from the original indictment due to my team’s preparedness and thorough case examination,” said Raul Torrez Bernalillo County District Attorney. “Mr. Garcia’s crime has impacted the lives of the victim and their family. Today they were able to receive some justice from this swift verdict from the jury.”
